IN THE SPIRIT OF FRIDA

Information on the activity

April 28, 2024 | 14 H 30

Invoking the spirit of the strong Mexican and feminist sensibilities of Frida Kahlo, one of the most iconic artists of all times, who proudly claimed to be Jewish (but was she?), three great Mexican women writers, Yael Weiss, Martha Bátiz, and this year’s Azul Prize winner Margo Glantz, converge in Montréal for the first time. Prepare for a powerhouse conversation about Jewish identity, and what it means to be a Mexican Jewish writer and feminist today. In English, with Q&A in Spanish and French.

With support from the Mexican Consulate in Montréal, Concordia University CUPFA.

Participants: Margo Glantz, Martha Bátiz, Yael Weiss

Host: Mireille Silcoff
